Good morning Lois and those who follow.
The weather man just reported we are supposed to have high winds tomorrow into Friday. There is a possibility we will lose power. Before I go to the embroidery class at the LQS I will I unplug my machines. Yesterday at open sew I sewed some 10" squares and cut them into half square triangles. I played with them on my design wall and came up with a beautiful top. What will happen with it? Who knows? Well, I better go find another cup of coffee.

Lois - have a good day at work.

Good morning all!!

Mary you made me laugh with goats had shoes LOL Nope no shoes the Farrier just cuts off all the over growth on their hooves to level it out so they walk right. If you don't do this then the goat will go lame. Goats are easier than horses. Goats don't think about it while horses you have to take one foot at a time and not move to quickly or they can become very agitated.

Well my brain was fried after working on computer all day so I scooted into my sewing room and put the last border on my quilt top. I had DH help me hold it up to the LA rails. Those who have the King size rails will get this. It is exacty 2 inches shy of the end of my leads. HUMMM so that means no room for the needed 4 in hang over. :( sad day so I will hand quilt this one :) I will try to lay it out and get a picture of the top. Maybe next pretty day hang on line. I am telling you it is a monster. I put it on my bed and It hangs over top of matress 15 inches each side :)

So today is go to mom and dads with my crew DD and lil man. I did have car scheduled for service but raining and with both kiddos too much to sit for an hour as its serviced. Changed it to Monday when I only have one. DD doesnt do well in places like that so not stressing myself out today.

My daffodils are all in bloom so pretty to look out widow and see them:) Not all came up this year HUMMM wonder if chipmunk ate my bulbs. Cats caught 3 this winter so I am thinking so.

Prayers for you Leah I hope all goes well at docs:) Keep your chin up.
Take some hand stitching with you to pass the time with something you love:) and know we are all with you!!

Well nothing else new here. I gotta run need more java this morning.

Hugs and prayers

For you Mary:) My goats need them today :)

Good Morning, I hope that someone will keep us posted on Leah and how she is doing if they know.

Today the wind has finally died down...you would get sand blasted if you went down there yesterday,,,,we will warm back into the 70s today. No planns except a load of laundry if the washer and dryer is available. we have one for our 20 camp sites. The people next door to us are from Michigan so we have had some conversations about home. This i a very quiet spot...Poeple say hi and chat but that is about it...

I made a bunch of yoyos while i sit here and listen to the waves...I was going to quilt the table runner here but decided to wait till I get home...Just a few more days,

Hope you all have a great day XXXOOO

Good morning, it's going to be a great day.

Today they are having an employee appreciation bbq. burgers and dogs. They have things to win prizes and a raffle. I usually don't win but will partake in a burger.

This weekend is finish my room weekend. Some of my fabric has been folded in totes for a long time. Do you sort yours by color or size or theme or what?

Jana, tell Michael it's a barn in a cave, has he ever seen one of those before?

Maryq, I think Ann told me about the potato chip pattern too. She does take good care of us. The cleaning fairy wasn't here either.

Sharona, sorry about the monitor. I wonder if your body is doing something that sets it off or is it just defective?

Maryz, did you just steal my closing line. oh gosh. nice that dinner was prepared for you. hope it was delish.

Lois, glad your celebration at work went well. A happy work crew is a productive work crew.

Suzette, we are to be windy too. I've often thought of making squares out of all my fabric and making a lot of quilt tops then buying more fabric because all mine will have been made into quilts. but who has the time.

Izzy, you are the right person for busy, I would have needed a "stop everything" day

Katy, yay you walking again. 8 minutes is great, you are wise to start slow. Seems like everytime I try to go to the gym something comes up. Now it's my back. grrrr

Judi, sand blasted? yikes.

Becca, Marilyn was the same way, where ever we stayed she wanted a pool at the hotel. funny the thought process. the parents are thinking how much the vacation cost and all you want is a pool. the kids are part fish and just want to swim. cracks me up. glad you found that baby doll pattern. you could make a few extra and have them stored for the kids that come up in your family.

I need to get some breakfast and some gas, you all have a great day.

And as Maryz would say,

May your bobbin always be full ( There Mary, we are even, LOL)

Good morning!

IZZY - hahaha!! I learn something new every day! and then have to unlearn it the next day! Love the photo! Thank you! Just for me! Oh, and animals don't eat daffodil bulbs. They are poisonous. However, Daffodils eventually can stop blooming as the bulbs multiply or age. I have non-bloomers all over my place. I need to dig them up and replant, I think.

SUZETTE - Don't you love when thing come together like your new top?! We're having wind today, too. If it gets bad, I'll unplug all of our electronics, too.

LOIS - I wasn't the one who asked but it's nice to know what you do. I was thinking you worked in the accounting department of a grocery store.

CHRISS - haha!! I guess we are even! I'm trying to think of a clever comeback, but it's too early. I love those drawer units. What do you plan to store in them? Have you found shelves yet? I store my general quilting fabric by color and fold it all basically the same way. But my whites/creams are on a separate shelf, as are batiks, Civil War, Landscape, Cat, and Christmas. Anything that is overtly novelty, I also have stored in a set of clear plastic drawers with labels on the front: sport, food, wine, wild animal, RV, Hawaiian, etc. And anything over 2 yards get folded more like it's on a bolt, stacked, labels with amount pinned on, and put on another shelf. My scraps are in a clear plastic 4-drawer unit: whites/creams, lights, mediums, darks. Finally, holidays other than Christmas are in 12x12x4 plastic containers, labeled, and stacked on top of a shelving unit. Whew! I have a lot of fabric!

JUDI - glad your weather is better today. I love your yo-yo's. I've been working on hexies, but I'd rather be doing yo yo'. Just waiting to find that Yo-yo maker. I keep forgetting about it when I shop. I hate to mention it, but when do you go home? Watch the weather! I saw there's another huge storm crossing approximately from Texas to Maine. Another few days in Paradise isn't too bad a price to pay for waiting out a storm.

BECCA - your days have been filled! Making the new baby doll will be fun. Do you make a little wardrobe to go with?

MARY Q - that Potato Chip pattern sounds interesting. I might have to look it up.

SHARONA - haha! wonderful hostess? I don't know about that! a few nights I've gone to bed grating my teeth! But we're falling into a rythm here and I think it's getting easier living with my sister. She talks a lot about what day they will be leaving (mid-March). So maybe she's grinding her teeth, too! lol! Sorry you lost a friend, but enjoy the lunch today in her honor. Yesterday we all went to the tavern where Bill and I always had Sunday breakfast with my brother, Jim. It was poignnant. Our first time back since he passed away. I remember my late husband had to wear a Holter monitor, too. What a pain that was.

JANA, I'm getting excited to 'see' your new bathroom!!

Yesterday we went and saw Game Night. It was really funny and worth the price of admission. Then I popped down to our LQS and picked up some colorful solids for Lori's "modern" swap. Today I plan to make a few sample blocks. My sis designed a block for me and it's very near to one I've always wanted to fiddle with. So today, I'm giving it a go.

My brother has 3 appointments in Seattle today which is nice that they are all on the same day since it's about a 225 mile round trip for him. But he says his wife, who hasn't gone to any appointments yet, wants to go along today, as well as their daughter, so I'm staying home. Our car only holds 4 comfortably and my Bill is the driver. Hence, I will play in my sewing room. And get my sis involved. She likes sewing, used to do a lot of it in her younger years, but just doesn't do much now. Maybe I'll get her jazzed up . . . . She loved helping sort the Valentine blocks and admired and fondled each one.

Wishing us all a sew day!

Good Morning All

I laughed at your goat photo this morning Izzy. That’s the way it is here, an over abundance of mud. Nice yesterday and ai got a ride in on my horse which was heavenly.

My thoughts are with Leah this morning, wondering has anyone heard from her. Also Dorothy as she deals with her loss of Jim. Life can be so short.

Becca, I hope the weather doesn’t get too rough....we had tornados around these parts the other day.

I have to spend most of the day in the barn as I have double duty. With my DN having a fractured foot, I have her stalls to clean top of mine.

Better run, I am always behind these days, lol.

Good Morning Girls

Another sunny day.... I'll take it! Actually going to get out of the house today!

Lois... Have you ever made an UGRR quilt? Or like me, just have the book? Do your co-workers know that you're a quilter?

Diane.... Your have your sewing space all set up the way you want now?

Flo.... glad you checked in... Good to know you are still talking, that's so important!

Joyce... Does your DN share your barn, or do you have to go over to her place and do barn chores there? Hope niece heals up quick!!

Maryz.... I'll text you a picture of the Potato chip quilt.. I couldn't find the directions on Pinterest, but it was so simple.. took no time at all. I should also send you a pic of my fabric stash... then you can come help me organize. Maybe Sis will get the bug after being at your house for a while and want to sew again.. only watch her when she packs up to go home...

Chriss... Most of my fabric is in tote boxes, sorted by colors, or by type---florals, CW, all white together. I have a ton of charm packs and they are sorted in shoe boxes. BIG pieces for backing are hanging in a closet, as are finished tops waiting for backing. My down stairs family room has turned into storage area for tote boxes. And there's still stuff in the storage unit! I've also set up "kits" in shoe boxes, cut pieces, with pattern, ready to grab to start when I finish one. I will never live long enough to use all the fabric I have!!

Becca.... I've promised myself, that as soon as the weather warms up, I'm going to start going for walks around my neighborhood. I really need to get moving more, and your walks and hikes have inspired me!

Judi... Are you getting a little home sick? Ready to go home?

Katy.... UGH taxes!!! Am finally going to get my paper work in the mail to my accountant today too! A refund would be so nice!

Izzy.... LOVE the goats in boots!

Suzette... I have a HUGE pile of HST's I'm waiting to find the right lay out for! Have you checked Pinterest? Hope you don't lose your power!!!

As I said, I'm actually going to get out of the house today.. Will run to Joann for Sr. Day and then to WM for groceries. May stop at my storage unit on the way and see what else I can bring home, though I should leave it all there, I'm running out of places to put it at home. But there's a couple things I really want to find!!!

Wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday

Good morning all! Had a good trip to Fort Wayne and Hobby Lobby yesterday. Spent less there than usually do but did get my Last Supper framing set up for me. Will pick up in 2 weeks. costing over $100.00 with all the things I wanted but it is for me so don't care. Stopped at PetSmart and got Smoke 2 big bags of his treats that he likes. Only place I can get big bags of them. Stopped a couple of other places before I got home. Was very tired. Not much planned for today except yearly cardiology checkup.

Supposed to get another inch of rain starting this afternoon so will be staying in tomorrow.

Hope someone keeps us posted on Leah. Been praying for her.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Sunny Morning......

We are waiting for a Nor'easter near the week end. I'll be good but I agreeif I lose power, might get a little chilly.

Not much happening here. High point of the day......putting new sheets on the bed!! Then sewing.

Suzette....looks like we're in for the same weather. Can't wait to see you new top.

I lost all my daffodils that I planted my 1st year here & the red tulips. Chipmunks.

Leah.....know you are in our prayers.

Katy....sounds like you accomplished a lot yesterday...go girl!

Judi.....sounds like a relaxing vacation. Enjoy the rest of it.

Becca......all that rain is how the the green Mtns stay so green. Sorry about those uglies....grrrrr......never ending! I'm glad you found the doll pattern.

Chriss......I hope you win a little something this year. I'm ready for my 1st summer burger.I have some fabric sorted by color & some by theme,,,ie 40s, Christmas & stars{I love stars}.

Izzy, cute picture.

Chriss, how did you have you fabric before? If it worked, I'd put back the same way. I have mine by colors in cubbies and boxes. Have fun at the BBQ. Hope you win a prize.

Suzette, have fun at your class.

Katy, I did a log cabin quilt this month. It was so boring. My strips are 1 inch finished and it seemed to take forever to make a block.

Maryz, looking forward to seeing your block. I'm still deciding on mine.

I got binding down on one quilt and have 3 more to go. The last 3 are small so it should go fast. These are quilts for kids and Vets.
I also want to layer my log cabin quilt and finish it up. I love the colors.

Have a great day. Lori

Good afternowon!

Waaaaay late here. Been scrubing out the refrigerator - aka - the science lab! Needed to do this for awhile. Now just waiting for the glass shelves to warm up to wash them. Also went to the store with Sarah. It's Winco, so you bag your own groceries. So my little Ethan just stepped up without being asked to bag my groceries. He did a really good job too. Then even carried them into the house for me.

My wallpaper arrived for the outhouse downstairs, so now as soon as we get the boxes of flooring, we are all set. The boxes are at the store waiting for pickup. Michael has a couple of electrical wires to run. Can't wait to try it out! LOL

Laundry is done, so when the refrig is done, that is where I will be!
