Good Sunny(for now)Morning.......

Looks like most of the eastern US will be getting some mix of precipitation today.. The flooding look deep in the south. Prayers that all lives will be safe.

It's uglies saturday for me. I might listen to a book on CD rather than public radio, the constant ridicule of Trump is boring.

I see there's a high school in Callisburg TX that has a sign telling all that the school has armed adults & they are ready to what has to be done to protect the children.

My phone(land line)so I have to work that out today.

Love & Prayers.......Kathy

Good Morning Kathy hope you are feeling ok. It is sunny and warm here...No plans today, going into town will probably not happen as it is very crowded on the weekends. I will do a bit of clean up here and if it is not windy we will go sit on the beach with a book. We have a beach tent like an umbrella with sides and it fits 2 chairs..

so those are my plans for today we are heading into the last week here,,,

Havr a great day XXXOOO

Good morning,

I've been a been missing a lot here this week. I will try to catch up soon.

First, I hope you all saw the message from Irish. Her beloved husband, Jim, passed away yesterday with Irish at his side. They were married for 64 years. You might remember that her son, Chriss, died 3-1/2 yrs ago. That happened on Irish and Jim's 60th wedding anniversary. If anyone would like to send a card, I have her address.

JUDI - I love your plans for the day! Enjoy!!

KATHY - I so agree with you!! Plus, I also listen to books on tape all the time - while sewing, gardening, cooking, cleaning, driving.

BECCA - I bet your family in WA got a lot of snow the past week. They kind of live in the snow belt! Only an hour from me and I'm in the banana belt! Such a difference!

I was in Seattle all day yesterday with my brother. My sister went along, as well as my brother's son (who had the brain tumor operation last Oct). My brother's surgery is March 8th. There will be five surgeons involved and they all want to see him pre-op. For Albert, this is a 3-hour trip each direction so a half-hour appointment can take the entire day for him.

Today I will be in my sewing room, sorting out Valentines. All the blocks are so beautiful! My sister can't wait to admire and fondle them all. It will be so nice to be doing something with fabric today!

I hope everyone gets to fondle fabric today!

Good morning everyone.
Today is Sewing Saturday with Michelle. Yesterday I fixed her paper piecing quilt center. So she seems to be feeling better. I was working on mine yesterday which is a border and was reading the instructions to put it together and there is a mistake in it. The designer tells you to cut on the dotted line and then the next line tells you to sew on the dotted line. For someone pretty new to paper piecing that was very confusing. I signed up for a fall retreat of Judy Neymeyer. The location is only 5 minutes from my house. Looking forward to it. I did finish the Tula Pink quilt. It's now a project for sitting in front of the tv to sew the binding on. I have to do a few chores before Michelle gets here. Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning All

Yesterday got one quilt sleeve put on. Intend to do last one today.
Had an O NO moment yesterday . Was cutting out 5 inch blocks for the quilt I been working on got down too last two not enough fabric.
So I went to Shabby fabric on line No yardage left in tiny pink roses. Only thing left was a fat quarter bundle. $45 For two five inch blocks. I think not. I went back to my sewing room cut a five inch block from other fabric cut across diagonally Used this piece to cut 4 pieces I needed out of a scrap piece of tiny pink rose fabric. Thank goodness. I did not need the extra fabric from the bundle.
I am off for another cup of java.

You all have a great sewing day

Good morning all! More rain here today but not quite so much. Not much planned. Today is the last day of curling for the Olympics. it is the medal rounds so will probably watch all of it and work on my cross stitching. Also need to get the pattern out and go over for my DS1's Civil War quilt. I have put it off long enough between being sick and the Olympics.

Kathy - I tried Books on tape once but just couldn't get into it. I guess I am old fashioned because I like to hold the book and sit in my recliner while I read. What are you listening to?

Maryz - will be keeping your brother in my thoughts as he goes through his surgery in March.

Becca - Glad you could enjoy Skyping with your Grands. Mine live in Okinawa so we try to Skype on Saturday nights since they are 14 hours ahead of us. If it wasn't for Skype I would go nuts not seeing my DGSs. Only 4 more months until DS2's retirement from the Corps.

Judi - Enjoy your day on the beach. Sounds like a nice way to spend an afternoon. Don't forget to bring back some warm weather next week.

Well better go get some breakfast for Smoke and me. Curling starts in about 10 minutes. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning Girls

Happy Saturday! Not sure what I'll do with myself today... oh I know.. SEW and maybe a little laundry!

Kathy... Do you have Pandora on your phone? That's all I listen to all day long. I find music I like, the hit the shuffle button and it plays a nice variety all day long.

Sherry.... What pattern are you making for your DS Civil War Quilt. I bought some CW fabrics last time I was fabric shopping, then discovered a bunch of it in a tote box in storage. If you need something, holler!

Katy.... I so Hate those OH NO moments! Had one the other day!!! I think I also said a bad word. Glad you were able to get it worked out tho.

Suzette... How fun to find a retreat so close to home! My LQS has a shop hop bus this summer.. Am so tempted to do, never have! Michelle is brave to try paper piecing... not something I'm ready for.

Maryz... Yeah... a fabric fondling day at your house! You have all the Valentine's block ready to come back already? I have Albert's surgery marked on my calendar, to remember and send prayers for him that day.

Becca.... None of my kids have land lines anymore either.. I'm old fashioned, I still have mine, mostly because I can never remember when I left my cell phone, or remember to charge it. Will meet you in the laundry room later.

Judi... Oh gosh... how I'd love to join you on the beach with a good book. Did you bring lots of sun screen so you don't burn while you're out there.

I posted a picture of another hospice quilt I finished last night. I'm not thrilled with it, so not sure I'll really give it away. Laid awake for a bit last night with all sorts of ideas in my head.. I think I'll leave a little tablet by my bed, so when I can't sleep, I can at least write down what I'm thinking... I usually don't remember by morning!

Coffee is kicking in... guess I'll go throw some water on my face and get dressed. Need to work on my taxes today too! UGH. A refund sure would be nice!

Wishing you all a Stupendous Saturday

Having a really tough time right now.. Cancer has returned on abdomen along with what is called caking.. Been through a hell of a wknd.
Been seeing red blood in toilette bowl and stools, to can't hold anything in goes right through and bowels throw it out after 4hrs.
to feeling weak, no energy for anything, hard to think and focus about how to deal thoughts my life is cut short to being abandoned alone to fight all by myself. Sleep hard to come by.. Specialists seem to have abandoned me not interested in dealing but matter of triage well how can we trust anyone for our care. to thinking all my life I dedicated to helping others and now they abandon..

So on thursday I buckled up and went ER in my area held in waiting room for 4hrs on a triage basis till blood tests, urine, cat scan were done and falling asleep on the lounging chair till they announced me the news.. Where I looked all staff wondering why are they in good health jealous of them fighting with hope.

The only 2 family members who were so evil forced to call them and all they know is money don't give a ***** about sympathy or my human.. One is all about money.. To reliving my parents struggles and hopelessness for their last year of life.. Scarred I'm next and hate my evil brother will live longer than I.. if their is humour in all that.

Have to believe the specialist can find a solution.. I hope they are right. and for how long. Already thinking that perhaps in such condition I'd find better family in a 3tier home with other sick people.

So life stinks right now.. Never felt this way but my sides are drained and guess bowels are affected anyways..

Oh I can understand now why people take anti-depression to deal with the lack of interest to do anything but sleep watch TV.. But think mine is due to physical health.. Going to ER though had all the mgmt staff on board after turning me away cz now they have to answer to higher up due to their abandoning me.. Which all turned around when training person pressed so hard on my stomach to look for something she had no clue.. and cover ups as a defence..

So now they have to deal with me.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. Eleanor is not aware, but I've been in love with her teaching style for at least 30 years. To scrapquilter48, I'm very sorry for what you're going through. It reminds me of my experience with colon cancer in 1990. I was back and forth to the doctor and ER with stomach pain. They kept telling me I wasn't sick. I think they thought I was seeking drugs. I was 39 and it ended up being colon cancer. I had surgery, followed by almost a year of chemotherapy. I never lost the hair on my head, but I never again had to shave my legs, YEAH. Now, I'm retired (from medical, believe it or not, which I truly regret, as I really wanted to be a singer). I want to spend my remaining years sewing, quilting, gardening, and playing with dolls. There's a new grand-nephew coming next July, so I'm working on a quilt for him right now, but I have a big garage full of UFOs, so much to do, so little time. Life is too short. I have to live to be 300 in order to finish all my projects. I'll bet you all know what I mean; I'm sure I'm not alone with that.

I live in Virginia. Ten days ago, it was 79 degrees. One week ago, it snowed. Four days ago, it was 79 again. I'm not sure what season we're in. I keep thinking about planting some tomatoes, not sure, very confused. But I love cold and/or rainy/snowy days, as it's very peaceful here on those days and I don't feel guilty about staying inside with my sewing machine..

I'm pooped.

I was going to go to IKEA just over 2 hours from here and decided to stop along the way at a fabric store. The fabric store was going out of business.

I got a big shelf thing to store my fabric for $25 and another shelf thing to store magazines for $10. I had to call Jerry to come pick them up because they wouldn't fit in my car.

Then we went to Office Depot and got two book shelves. Except for the design wall I'm all set.

We are taking some rest time and will tackle putting together the book shelves tomorrow. I like that my furniture is all different kinds of wood, If I ever need to replace something it will fit right in.

Judi, sounds like a wonderful day. If I wasn't so pooped I'd join you,

Becca, my grandma showed me how to make snow cream. it was really cool. your grands will remember it when they grow up and have their own kids.

Maryz, nice that you and sis were able to go with Jim. He appreciated your support I'm sure.

Suzette, please post some pictures of Michelle's work. When she sees how much we oooohhh and aaawwwww she will have more confidence than she will need.

Katy, glad you fixed your tiny rose fabric issue. I have some tiny rose fabric with a cream background. if it's not to late and it works for you I will gladly send it.

Sherry, I'm not a book on tape fan either. But I am a fan of breakfast, maybe I will see if Jerry wants a breakfast date tomorrow.

Maryq, I think a notebook on the bed table is a great idea. At least it took you all night to forget. I couldn't remember if I turned the dryer on before I got half way down the hall.

Leah, is there a patient advocate or a senior helper in your area? I'd research and see who can be a guide for your needs. Sending prayers.

JudyK. Welcome. this is a great place to be. we meet here each morning for coffee, hope you can join us often.

WEll, Jerry said the next step in putting my bookcases together requires an assistant. Since Moose has no thumbs I think I am elected.

Hope you all have a great afternoon.
