Good morning Izzy and those who follow.
We got up to 80 yesterday and today so far it's 57. I have finished the Tula Pink quilt. I have to sew on the binding and make a label. Hubby is going to strip the wall paper in our other bathroom. Whoever hung the paper did not know what they were doing. Hubby has asked me to make another Meyer Lemon cheesecake. I have to admit it was very yummy. Well, I better go clean out the frig it's trash day. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning all

Izzy I think Kentucky has had enough rain for a while. It appears there are floods down there.
Becca My daughter was my second child LOL
Suzette I would sure like to try that cheesecake Is it baked?

Yesterday got labels made an on quilts for show. Also made sleeves for them. Will get on quilts today. Hopefully.
I just waiting on quilt kit from Quilt in a day .
Will start spring cleaning next week if I get quilts ready. I have finally got caught up from winter cough. Today dishes, sleeves and blocks on new quilt. Only 8 more to go on that one then I can put together. It calls for a 10 inch border I think that is too much for one border. I will probably break down into 3 borders.

What do you all think???

Well I need another cup of coffee.
You all have a great sewing day

Good morning!

Izzy - sorry for the flooding - hope you're above most of the rain water. I had piano last night also.

Suzette - 80?! Good grief that's awfully warm for winter. Good luck to your DH - that is a very un-fun job.

Becca - how exciting - a spring wedding! Enjoy your visit.

Prayers for our sweet Dorothy.

The dog had to go out at 4:45 this morning, so I gave up going back to sleep (DH gets up at 5) and finally gave up on going back to sleep around 5:30. I need to get started on my BOMs from my Secret Sister and try to solve a genealogical mystery for my dad I've been working on for 15 years and maybe I'll vacuum the steps today. Or not - time will tell. HA! Have a wonderful and blessed day. xoxo Sharona

OOOPS - Katy - I stepped on you! I think three borders would be daintier. Glad your cough is gone - mine is almost gone too. Yay for us.

Good morning, It is another wonderful sunny warm day here,,,we are expecting 76. I see now why people move here,,,,BUT i would not be able to be without my kiddos...

We facetimed them last night since Liam had a hockey game they won and Liam scored a goal...so we had to say congrats. We do miss them.

Yesterday was National Margarita Day and Ken had to have just one so we stopped during our shopping and had a break. I dont drink tequilla so I had a Sangria which was very good. Shopping was fun except I didnt find anything for the kids...We will go out today again, to a different area.

We also will go to the fish monger and get some shrimp right off the boat...really tasty, I will grill it with a garlic marinade...

HAHA we did look a some new houses for sale. They were big and came with a pool....A million to start. Very nice We left right away.

Today we will probably do a load of laundry. Hope you all are having a great day XXXOOO

Getting down to the wire here. DD is coming this weekend to put in a few hours for me. Just cannot believe the stuff I have. I do not have any idea where it all came from.

Would like to take the time to read through everything as I feel so out of touch with everyone but have to be at the church in 4 hours and guess what, still packing! OMG!

I did want to post this though, in going through our regular storage unit (clearing it out as rent keeps going up) I found a box that had sewing machine attachments. There are 3 boxes (small) with various pieces. A button holer, ruffler, and I am not sure what all else. If someone has an old singer or possibly Kenmore they may fit. Two of the boxes say singer and I found a package of Kenmore needles. I am not sure of the year but the instructions are copyrighted in 1934 - 1936. Must have been my grandmothers. If someone would like them, I would rather give them to you than throw them away. Please let me know.

Hoping all is well with everyone and you are getting your cotton desires met.

Good morning!

I missed yesterday and this will probably be short today. My DBIL should be up in a few minutes and he likes to talk. Love him to pieces but he does like to get up early and talk. I have had a few minutes to myself here and there and I finished the tops for a table runner and 10 placemats. I used swap blocks I had in my UFO box from several years ago. They were fall-themed. Now I'm thinking of starting a new FGV quilt since I gave my sister the first one I made. 6" blocks. She told me she suddenly recalled the quilt and where it is - packed away in her RV, which is in storage at the moment. In Colorado. And she also gave me a special gift she'd brought me from Florida. We're friend again! :o)

In the middle of the night last night, we heard a loud crash that brought us straight up out of bed. I assumed the cats had knocked a tray of wine glasses off the buffet but they looked as started as we were! We toured the family room and saw nothing amiss. DH went into the bathroom and saw a wooden knick knack shelf with 6 little cubbies filled with 6 little items had fallen from the wall into our 104 yr old clawfoot tub! Smashed figurine everwhere! I'll have to try to sweep way back under the tub today to get all the broken glass. And the toilet wouldn't flush. I had to reach in there and pulled out pieces of a special little dish. Guess that's where I stashed all the tooth fairy offerings because there were little teeth all over, too! lol! My kids are all in their 40's now!

Today is Doctor Day for Albert in Seattle after chiropractor day here in Gig Harbor. My sis is going to go along with us. We won't be home until almost 7pm. My DBIL will stay home and watch the shelties.

SUZETTE - are you going to re-paper the wall or paint it? When we papered a few weeks ago, we found wetting the paper really didn't work well at all. We finally got wallpaper paste, spread it onto the dry paper, and it worked MUCH better. Just a helpful hint learned the hard way. I would LOVE some of that lemon cheesecake - my favorite flavor!

BECCA - Not so long ago you were in snow and ice and now you're almost 80*! What a change that must be!

KATY - you're going to all ready for that quilt show by end of business today, it sounds like! I guess I'd have to see the quilt the 10" border is for before I could offer an opinion. Is it already a busy quilt and the big border is a place to rest the eyes, or would a triple frame set off the body of the quilt? Or a narrow, solid border to frame the body, maybe a checkerboard or row of geese next, and then a final outer border?

IZZY - that's a LOT of rain!! We're known for our rain, but we rarely see it like you are having it - 6" in a day. Hope the dam holds and you don't get your road washed out again.

CHRISS - I still love my idea of kitchen cabinet for fabric storage. You can even get glass doors if you want to admire your fabric, but not a good idea if it faces a sunny window. I have glass doors on my shelving and I love it! But still, cabinet companies often have clearance items on sale from cancelled orders. Including Home Depot, Lowes, and other home improvement places and cabinet shops.

SHARONA - glad for the negatives in your life!! So you have a 'job'!? I bet the pay is fantastic, too! Sweet of you to man those phones. And don't worry about a messy sewing room! It's a sign of creativity! Nothing more boring than a tidy sewing room

Got to go. BIL up and sitting next to me, talking. I better pay attention.

Miss you all!!

Good Morning Girls

Happy Friday! Woke up to a fresh layer of snow on the ground... figures, my drive way had all cleared up and now it's covered again. Might go shovel later just to get some fresh air. Supposed to warm up by Sunday, so maybe it will all just melt away and my neighbor won't have to snow blow for me again.

Izzy... Would you like some snow? I could send you some of that. Though it wouldn't help the flooding problem. Every time I complained about snow, my Dad would remind that the farmers need to snow in the winter to have a good spring/summer for growing crops.

Valerie... You have the accessories, but not the machine? Nice of your DD to come help. Since I've packed up a lot of my stuff, I'm kind of surprised at the stuff I haven't even missed. Except my fabric and quilting books--that stuff I miss!

Flo... You got me thinking about making little quilts for our local Sheriff's department. My town is so small we don't have our own police Dept, but are protected by county Sheriff's. Once I get ahead on a few hospice quilts, I might just make a few for the sheriff's.

Judi... I agree, I don't think I could move to FL, or TX or AZ either... too far from my MN kids.. I'm trying to talk Kevin into moving someplace south, so he can golf all year around, then I'd go with him! How is the humidity down there this time of year?

Sharon.... Dog gets up at 4:45am.. I guess won't get a dog then. I wouldn't be too happy to get up at 4:45. Though I did get a phone call at 7:45 from an 800 number.. what's up with that. DO love caller ID.

Katy.... A ten inch border? Yikes, that sounds pretty big! I have such trouble with my borders rippling I'd be really afraid of one that wide. Need to go back and watch more youtubes on how to prevent the border bubbles.

Suzette....Stripping Wall paper is the worst job ever!!! Made me vow to never hang it again!!! Get some stuff called "DIFF".. it's a HUGE help.

Becca.... Yes I have certainly been giving my new machine a work out. I've been sewing about 5-7 hours every day. It feels pretty good to actually get things done! Come spring, when it's time to mow and do yard work, my machine will get a rest.

Maryz... Good to hear you and sis are friends again. Sorry about the crash in the nite... I think I have an envelope of baby teeth around here somewhere too. I did give the kids their baby books already. Glad to hear you've been able to get some sewing in with company there. I may have to dig out some of the fall swap blocks I have too and see what I can do with them. I'm still looking for the Cupcake blocks I have--thinking that would make a great hospice quilt. I actually have the backing for that!

Never did run the vac upstairs yesterday, spent the morning organizing more of the fabric I brought home. Found some great pieces for pillow cases for Merryman House and made up kits to put them together. Got most of the quilting done on the quilt I started years ago... Ending up having trouble with puckering on some areas, so picked a lot of it out last nite watching TV. Will re-pin and try to finish up today.

Coffee is kicking in, so think I'll go shower up and get to a few uglies, then head back down to Sew.

Wishing you all a Fabulous Friday!

MaryQ - we are lucky about removing the paper. Whoever hung it did not do a good job. It's all falling down.

MaryZ - we are painting. No more wallpaper.

Katy - the cheesecake is cooked in an Instant Pot pressure cooker. If you want the recipe let me know. I would be glad to share it.

Val, if you can't find someone that wants the old sewing machine items, give them to goodwill or some charity like that. There is someone out there that would love to find them in a store some day.

Maryz, what a disaster to have to clean up in the middle of the night. Hope all goes well for your DB. Safe travels

I woke up with half of my face swollen. I went to the Doctor yesterday because I think I may have a sinus infection. Started on Antibiotics last night. Hope the swelling goes down soon. Although, that side of my face looks 10 years younger without wrinkles. lol

Have a great day. Lori

Good morning all! just a quick stop in this morning. Will be glad when the Olympics are over. Have spent so much time watching curling that I am getting nothing done in the house except cross stitching while watching games. There are 4 on today to watch. Wonder though what I will blame my lack of ambition on after the Olympics. I got it baseball season is starting with Spring training. Go Cubbies!

Got more rain last night and a lot this morning. Like I have said though better than snow. Well better go finish my coffee and watch some more curling. Read the other day that viewership of the Olympics is down over 25% from last Winter Olympics.

Have a good day everyone.

Good mrning!

It is snowing! So far another 6 inches or so. The plows haven't been by yet, so the roads are slick.

We are on baby watch - Aaron took Kate up to the hospital for tests as her contractions have been quite severe. She is just 32 weeks along, so it is early. The doctors gave her a steriod shot to aid in the baby's lung development. The doctors are trying to hold off delivery for 2 or 3 weeks more. Kate is to take it very easy, as everything is ready, but not put on bed rest. Gracie will be either here with me or with Sarah.

Sarah just called and she had to take her DH to work with their 4 wheel drive truck. A trip that normally takes 30 minutes took her 90 minutes. So because of that and school is short today, Ethan gets a snow day!

Not much else here, uglies, sewing and praying,

I was here this morning, I typed up my post, hit add to discussion then poof, off it went.

Lori, what a savings. hope you enjoy your machine bunches. I see you're thinking of hostessing a swap. Yay you.

Maryq, I love Jerry too. He put together my sewing table and wrote inside the drawer "to my favorite sewer" I asked him why he called me a sewer (like the septic tank) we had a fun laugh at that. It would be fun to make rounds and end up in someone elses sewing room.

Flo, you sound wonderful. it's wonderful to see you like this.

Sharona, glad the biopsy came out in your favor. what a blessing. Ihave looked all over for book shelves. UGH! I don't want junk but can't afford the expensive ones. I'll find them.

Katy, I am going to get some foam board insulation from Lowes. And cover it in flannel. I bought the flannel on sale at Joanns. the foam board comes in 4x8 sheets. I will get two. Not sure if I will affix it to the wall or not.

Suzette, Have Michelle make a "quilt sandwich" to practice on. it doesn't have to be too big, maybe a 15 inch square. Once she gets the hang of it have her quilt her name. She'll get it.

Lori, that's some sinus infection. my allergies have been bothering me lately but so far I have to keep my wrinkles.

Tomorrow morning I am going to go find those book cases. I've been everywhere and am not finding what I want, but I will.

You all have a great evening, See you tomorrow for the prayer a thon. don't forget to add a prayer for O'Dorothy and family.
