Good morning,

LOIS - Your quilt will be beautiful. I love jewel tones, but have few fabrics in my stash that would fit that palette.

BECCA - I'll add your friend to my Saturday pray-a-thon list. Along with Asa.

DIANE - have fun at the QOV event!

VELDA - did you finish your RBR pattern?

SHARONA - Are you and DH done with doctoring for a while now?

SUZETTE - where is you this morning?

MARY Q - If that's all the UFO's you have, you must be a quilting anomaly! lol!

JUDI - have you ever heard of 'burping' your Keurig? You hold it upside down and burp it like a baby. Supposedly this prolongs the life of the appliance. I've done it and our Keurig is still working fine. Though we only use it occasionally.

Our meeting with Vicki's DD, Megan, went OK. She says she feels very badly that her mom has such a negative (and expensive!) impact on our lives. We talked about the possibility of them going to court to get legal guardianship, about them checking on her more often than once a week, and about them buying her a compost bin and teaching her how to use it. If they go to court, we assured her we would testify and the Gig Harbor PD and the Sheriff's dept both said they would also go. GHPD has about 4 or 5 reports on file about Vicki now, all regarding her instability, both physical and mental. So Megan is going back to her siblings to talk and consider. But changes take time. Sigh.

Today - finish a table runner and then see what's what in my sewing room.

I hope y'all got some perpetually full bobbins!

mary z
p.s. IZZY, look at the bottom of every post where you see the date and time. You'll also see FLAG. I think you can just click on that. Presto!

Good morning, it's going to be another great day today.

This weekend my goal is to start packing my sewing room up. I will get my vacation payout today and want to make my room over. Maybe I can purge as I move.

Grandma loves her shower stool. Jerry put it together and made sure it was the right height. He said it was hard to get her off of it to put it in the shower. the seat swivels and she was swiveling.

Maryz, well? How did the meeting go with Vicky's kids? Did you tell them about the vet bill?

Sharona, glad DH's lung stuff came out good. Did the piano miss you, did it feel neglected?

Maryq, you're welcome to come distract me if you like. I think when I retire I will have multiple projects going too. Does your local library want your magazines for an upcoming book sale?

Lori, I will take the blame, did you go to the estate sale? did you find a treasure? We have one near here this weekend that I am trying to talk myself out of. It's like estate sales are a magnet and I am metal. Such a quandary.

Jana, I would love to see the little bo peep dress. she will be adorable. Marilyn used to say "Is it from the olden days, like the 1900's)

Lois, jewel tones will be beautiful. Looks like QIAD ran out of one kit and added a blue one. I'm still sticking with what I have on hand. but it's so hard with this internet shopping so available. UGH!!

Diane, there must be a lot of vets in your area, I bet they really appreciate the quilts, it must be nice for them to know they are appreciated.

Velda, I'm also glad it's Friday. Weekends are always a nice break.

Becca, prayers for your friend. enjoy your sunny day.

Maryz, sorry the meeting didn't net any results. hopefully it will get resolved soon. Whatever happened with the guy with the tree?

My goal this weekend is to empty my nick nack shelves in my sewing room. Lots of stuff. I also need to pick a paint color. And I bought some flannel when it was on sale and want to make a design wall. still trying to figure out the wall part.

I need to take a before and after picture. I'm excited about getting a redo in my room.

Hope you girls have a super day,
Chriss

Morning
Yesterday we ended up in Springfield taking down a greenhouse. Joe found an ad online for it, its used , and presto off we went. It needs a good cleaning and that it all. We don't know where it will go yet, but we have been looking at them for awhile. Then Lion's club last night. Joe did get the bookcases moved in my sewing room so I can start putting it back together today.

No progress on project house because of problems here, but it is a long term project so no rush.

Coffee time for now

Good Morning it is beautiful quiet day. What I love about this place it is attracts quiet people..the roads are sand and the cars go by making very little noise, we maybe see one car a day. the campsites are isolated by trees but you can still see the neighbors. No traffic noise here just ocean. Somedays we dont even turn the tv on..

I did cut a bunch of 2 inch squares and I will make a table runner,,,but I think I will do some applique on the borders...not sure what yet...perhaps some flowers that match the quilts in the camper. I have 3 in the main cabin.

Well coffee is drunk. New Kuerig works great, we have one at home and we will swap the new red one for the one at home since the new one matches the red kitchen at home. This Keurig has been repaired several times,,Last time Ken put a new pump in it...so it was time/

Maryz sorry about the neighbor problems...My friend had a nieghbor just like Vickie...one day she was fine and then she snapped and did all sorts of things became very paranoid...Finally she pulled out a gun and threatened the neighbors and was finally taken away to a hospital for help. The kids sold the house and My friend now has good neighbors...it took many police reports.

We have nothing planned for today maybe a trip to the laundry, hope you have a great day,XXXOOO

Good morning all! Just a quick stop in this morning. More snow last night and more today and through the weekend. Supposed to get 4 - 6 inches over next 24 hours. Yippee!! Good time for Smoke and me to stay in. Getting to feel a lot better finally. The last batch of antibiotics seem to really have helped.

My friend Ann who just lost her mother that she had been caring for went to the lawyer the other day. With her mother's passing the household income is going from $2400/month to $1000/month just social security disability for her bad knees. None of the jobs she worked at had pensions. Since she is not a widow she loses her mom's SS check. Her lawyer thinks her best option is to file bankruptcy since she has so many bills and basically no way to pay them. She may have to sell her home also since she really can't afford to keep it. If she does that and moves to a small apartment she should be able to make it. So sad, but I am here for her with moral support. It is so sad that what little savings they did have was embezzled by a person they trusted. I feel guilty though because even though my DH is gone we had everything set up for our future. will definitely be praying for Ann a lot.

Becca - Hope Asa's tests come out with a good report.

Izzy - So sorry your daughter is so sick. Hope she feels better soon.

Judi - Glad you got a new Keurig for your morning coffee. Sounds like you are like my sister - can't get going without her morning coffee.

Maryz - Hope your neighbor Vickie's daughter goes through with what you talked about. Your neighbor really needs more help from her family.

Diane - I know you will enjoy your QOV ceremony today.

Well better go get some breakfast for Smoke and me. Think I will finish my Bob Evans sausage gravy I got the other day. I get a takeout quart and then it makes 2 breakfasts for me.

Tonight will be watching more Olympics. Don't watch the opening ceremony except for the parade of nations. Will be watching curling which I love, luge, and bobsledding mostly. Saw several hours of mixed doubles curling yesterday. Can't stand to watch figure skating. Also on Sundance Channel this weekend they are rerunning the original Roots Miniseries. Will have to watch some of that since I read the book and saw it originally many years ago. Also this weekend NASCAR starts up again. Guess my remote will really get a workout.

Hope everyone has a good day. Also need to remember the Prayer time here tomorrow.

Sherry

Lois - TGIF. It will be a rainy and cold weekend here. Good time to sew if we didn't already have plans.

Diane - I really admire you and your QOV. I'm curious - do you ever quilt anything other than QOV?

Vel - you're retired. Why are you glad it's Friday. LOL

Becca - prayer sent up for Sharon. Staph is so nasty.

Maryz - maybe you should start calling the police about even the tiniest of infractions just to have calls on record. What good does burping your Keurig do?

Chriss - a room re-do. I should probably pretend I'm getting a room re-do and go thru and purge purge purge!

This weekend my DH wants to go to look at dogs to rescue. WHAT??? So tomorrow morning we go get our hairs cut, take Schatzi to the vet to have her stitches removed and then we go looking. We'll see what happens. Can't believe Don wants to do this as he's been saying all year (since our Scooter died) that he doesn't want another dog

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Very Cold Morning!

Boy, that hot cup of tea was really needed this morning. I need to go out to the PO to mail the GDC's St V present. I finally made the Cinn rolls & I need to drop them off.
The rest of my day will be working on my Bonnie Hunter quilt. Not much else happening.

Love & Prayers..............Kathy

Good morning!

Lois - jewel tones will look beautiful! Happy Friday.

Diane - what a great thing your group does for our vets.

Vel - have a great weekend too.

Becca - your poor neighbor - I'll be praying for her. Hope it stays out of her blood stream.

Maryz - I wish we were done with doctoring. My right ear is still plugged. Glad the meeting was ok - I sure hope the family moves forward on going to court.

Chriss - how exciting - designing your sewing room! Your grandma sounds so cute. Yes, my piano did say it had missed me. At least I remembered a few things. If you google fabric design wall there's lots of info if that's what you're needing.

Flo - sounds like you'll be able to get a head start on planting. Springfield (at least where my Grandma lived) has some of the best soil I've ever seen. Once she threw some cantaloupe seed out the back door for the cats, and she got a crop of cantaloupe!

Judi - glad you got some coffee. A red Keurig sounds cool. Hearing the ocean would be so cool.

Sherry - my heart hurts for your friend Ann. Prayers for her. Hope your remote holds up this weekend.

Cindyg - I hope you find the perfect dog this weekend. Maybe Schatzi channeled something to your DH.

Kathy - you have a busy Friday. I hope the PO is an easy trip and there's no sticker shock.

I did a stupid thing yesterday and answered the door. It was some window salesman who wouldn't take no for an answer. Usually I am rude and just shut the door, but for some reason I did not. I'm so angry at myself! They're supposed to come back today to measure windows - I'm going to tell them to hit the road. I also ground hamburger - first time I've tried that. They were pretty good! Have a wonderful and blessed day. xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Girls

Another bright sunny cold day! Was thinking about making a Joann run with my hand full of coupons, but balanced the check book and am thinking maybe that won't be such a great idea. It's not like I really NEED any thing...

Lois, I finally just now looked at the BOM for 2018... In jeweltones it will be gorgeous! What a challenge it's going to go be! but what FUN!

Kathy... I've got the coffee, bring on the cinnamon rolls!

Cindyg.... I think Don is just an old softie at heart for wanting to look for a new puppy.

Sherry... so sad for your friend Ann, to spend all her life working and caring for her Mom, and now to find herself is such awful financial mess. Will keep her in thoughts and prayers. Hopefully she now has someone honest in her life helping her plan for the future.

Judi... The sounds of the ocean... how wonderful. I used to think if I won the lottery I'd buy/build a house over looking the ocean somewhere just to listen to the sound of the waves all day.

Flo... Sounds like a good news that you can start getting your sewing room back to normal. 😊

Chriss... I'd love to come distract you, but then on the other hand, you'd never get a nice new sewing room, we'd spend too much time chatting and playing. When I had a design wall up.. I used some thin sheets of styro I got at HD. and covered it with a flannel back table clothe. It all went out to garage when I was cleaning last summer, but I've resurrected a few pieces to re-make it.

Maryz. HA... I've lost count how many UFO's I have.. I did manage to get the borders on 2 little quilts yesterday, but there are 4 sets of blocks on the guest bed, 3 sets stored in the bathroom closet, 2 sets of ISBS blocks, and various other things I've started just to test a new pattern I found. That's not counting the Delectable Mountain blocks I just had to try. Glad the meeting with Vicky's DD went "ok" for now. Hopefully she will share your concerns with her siblings and get the ball rolling on some other option for her. At least there are reports filed and there will be some background info. when needed.

Becca.... Hope little Asa is doing well. Is he home or still at hospital. Prayers as well for your friend Sharon.

Velda... When do you head back up north?

Diane....Just coming here every day makes me smile! 😎

Sharon... Just tell the window guy that your husband carries a gun! Where I live, you have to get a permit from the city to go door-to-door, so I always ask for that first before I talk to somebody. And luckily my door bell doesn't work, so I never hear anybody. 😁

Look what I learned how to do! πŸ’“πŸ‘±β€β™€οΈπŸ‘

Some new update on computer whoppie!

anyway... guess I'll get in the shower and get in gear. crank up some music and see what trouble I can get into downstairs.

Wishing Y'all a fabulous Friday

Good morning everyone

Busy week and change in work schedule is throwing me off. Have been working 1030 – 7 but last night it was 8:30 PM. Off today technically. Just spend 90 min going through the computer and updated stuff and sending messages to staff.

Only went back and read through Thursday. Planning on getting to the church soon to start some work there. Got the first boxes in the shed yesterday!

IZZY - hope DD is feeling better, sounds like she had a most unpleasant day

KATHY – sure wish I was your neighbor!

CHRISS – We are having perfect weather here too! My front yard is finally dried out so DH could cut. Too much lumber and what not in the back yet but will get to it.

BECCA – prayers for your friend. My mom had the same issue in her left arm. She had a mastectomy in 1973 and after than she frequently got a staph infection in that arm. Had to be real careful that nobody took her BP or drew blood from that arm

MARY- Hoping Vicki gets the help she needs soon.

Well, would like to address all but running out of time. Need to get to the thrift shop to get in a couple hours before customers show up. So hard to do both. Also need to get ready for scout Sunday breakfast. My church hosts it every year and since I am the liason between church and scouts, guess who is in charge.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and get a few stitches in. Somebody please stitch a bit for me! Maybe soon I can get back. Still have not heard about our monthly sew group. Maybe I will email her.

Good morning!

Sunny and beautiful outside. My weather here is more like what I had in California.

Not much here, just sewing on the little dress. We are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate bd's.

Do something fun!

Oh Izzy, so sorry you are sick. Your life is too busy for you to be sick. Hope it passes quickly.

Chriss, I bought a pretty cake plate. It's green glass. I was going to head over to one today, but I talked myself out of it.

Did a little sewing on the log cabin quilt. I'm about half done. The strips are only 1 inch finished, so it seems to take a long time.

Have a great evening. Lori
