Good morning everyone.
Woke up this morning to about 1/2" maybe of snow on the cars and grass. Since I was up early I started my Greek yogurt in the Instant Pot. I also want to give you something to laugh about early this morning. I went to the LQS and talked to someone that has started the paper pieced quilt. Well, we figured out I was worried about nothing. The extra was for the seams! I have been quilting for probably 10 years now and didn't think about it. So, I came home and went to work. It came out wonderfully. I am off to find another cup of coffee. Have a wonderful day.

PS: has anyone heard from Vicky? Just realized I hadn't seen anything from her.

Good morning! Suzette, so glad it turned out to be easy. Directions should be clear. I hate when they expect you to just "know".
I am glad to report, I am very close to being done with my quilting. Then binding and I will be done. I am ready to find a different project. I have several waiting.

Good Morning All

A balmy 17 degrees here in Kentucky this morning. Dusting of snow on the ground as the rain from yesterday turned white during the night.

Outside with the farrier all day having new shoes put on the horses...he is thankful we have a stable with lights and lots of room for him to work, oh and coffee ☕️

Have my chicken wall hanging ready to attach to frame....but have to paint frame...will probably wait till it warms up some this weekend to finish that. Also need to make curtains for the kitchen...might try to work on that after house uglies today.

Then again, might just read in front of the fire, lol.

Going for coffee before feeding animals so will check in later.

Hugs to all

Good morning thought I would check in before I packed my computr. Suzette i was thinking about Vicky the other day...wish she would let us know she is ok. We are headed out as soon as I get dressed,,,,Have a great day everyone will check back to read.

Suzette I was so intimidated by paper piecing,,then after a 1 hour class it is facinating how many blocks can be made this way...half of the Farmer's Wife were paper pieced 6 inch blocks...and I did 3inch blocks that way too...the detail is amazing, XXXOOO

Good morning ladies. Enjoying my coffee with you this morning.

Well, the tech finally got all the bugs out of the system and I can now access school I am working for in DE. Everyone there is so nice I think I will really enjoy the work. Today I will review my kids IEPs and get a game plan set for next week :)

I think I will run over to mom and dads today too. Momma is making a fix it list her OCD is in overdrive with being stuck in the house with nasty weather. LOL

I had piano last night she was impressed with my improvement in a song I was working on. I am learning new hand movements and last night was my intro to 3 flats UGH. I have played 1 and 2 sharps, 1 and 2 flats and of course MajorC chord. OMG moving right along now. I CAN DO THIS> lol I keep telling myself this hahaha

Suzette so funny you mention Vicky I almost asked the same question yesterday. There are so many that use to be here posting I don't see anymore. I noticed it when I pulled out my fall swap blocks that a few that were in the swap I don't see around much anymore. Miss a lot of them.

Well, Joyce said the nasty S word. Snow hahaha Yup got a dusting here. It snowed like a blizzard last night while at piano. and yes I had to go to grocery--because I was really out of milk and wanted to make biscuits to go with my chicken and dumplings I made LOL. I got other stuff I needed too so I didn't look like the crazy one coming in just for milk and bread. :) I didn't buy any bread :)

Big temperature change from yesterdays 50 to this morning 14. burrrr.
But suppose to warm up to 46 today.

I'm sitting here on couch under blanket by the wood stove all cozy with my coffee so not too awful bad.

Well, you all have fun stitching something pretty today.

I started a new theme in our daily devotions: Praying Through the Bible and hope you will go over to Chitchat and start your day in the Lord's word:)

Hugs and prayers

Good morning,

This will be a short one today. Our friends are here and are early risers. Coffee is done and eggs and potatoes are cooking to make potato salad for tonite. I have a veggie platter made and will put out a cheese and cracker tray later this afternoon for 'happy hour' prior to our burger BBQ. We'll be 10 hungry folks.

I got my Bernie back from the spa yesterday. No power cord!:o( It wasn't sent to the shop with the machine, but it WAS taken out of the case and used to plug the machine in on the work table at the store to check it out when I dropped it off. And then they couldn't remember if they'd used MY cord or theirs. Guess it was mine. Now I have to make a second 30-mile trip and pay the $5 toll to go pick it up. Sigh.

Funny you all mention Vicky. I was thinking of her, too. Tia has probably had her new baby by now.

Got to go - coffee is ready and eggs are on the boil. TTYL!

I know there are other members we haven't heard from and I miss them as well. It's just that Vicky came to mind. I thought Tia had been pregnant. I hope everything is going well for all those that we have missed.

Minnie and I did make it home Wednesday. I woke up with a headache yesterday, so went back to bed til noon.

Velda and I have been wondering about several ladies, Vicky is one, and where's Jules?

Minnie has an appt with the Vet Eye specialist this morning.

Judi- Safe travels.

MaryZ- Would it be easier to have them mail the cord?

Good morning!

Suzette - you did make me laugh. I have done that very thing as well. Glad you figured it out! Enjoy your snow.

Vel - the end is near! Maybe you'll finish it today.

Joyce - did you break out your bikini for the balmy weather? I vote for reading in front of the fire. I bet the horses are sassy with their new shoes.

Judi - safe and happy travels.

Izzy - I was supposed to start piano yesterday but am having side effects from this round of steroids. I know what you mean about new hand movements - sometimes I trip over mine. I'm glad you're enjoying your new work with the DE.

Maryz - oh how annoying! Too bad they won't mail it. I've had that happen also - now the store writes down if the cord is there or not, Have fun with your company.

Lyn - glad you made it home - sorry about the headache. Hope the vet appt goes well.

Today we're headed to the knee surgeon for DH's one year appointment. Other than that, not much going on here. Have a wonderful and blessed day! xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Girls

Another cold day.. below zero...and it looks like we're not going to see anything warm for a while. Good thing I have coffee, TP and fabric so I don't have to go anywhere!

Suzette.... Sounds like you had a "forehead slap" moment figuring out your paper piece! Glad you were able to figure it.. sounds like you'll be a roll today.

Maryz... Is your company a quilter? Bummer about the cord for your Bernie! Sucks to have to go back and pay a toll fee just to get it! They did find it right?

Izzy.... have been going through assorted tote boxes of fabric and finding swap blocks over the years from folks we never see any more! Came across several years of Christmas blocks. 46 above would feel like spring for me, I'd even be tempted to go into town if was that warm. My LQS has wide backing on sale for 30% off! so tempting!

Judi... Have a GREAT trip!

Joyce... I vote for curling up with a good book in front of the fire. My head is spinning with quilt ideas, but I think I may just need to take a short break.

Velda....Is this a quilt that hand quilted the whole thing? I bet it's gorgeous. I thought about trying to hand quilt a small quilt, but I'm too impatient and I know it would take me forever. And my hand stitches are not the pretty--just probably need more practice.

Lyn... Nice to be back in Texas? Your headache went away? I think it made its way to MN this morning. Darn head cold.

Sharon... Has it been a year already since DH had his surgery? Wow that went fast.

Flo... With a little bit of luck, you'll get a tax refund..enough for some new carpet maybe?

Did a little more organizing yesterday, even with a 2 hour nap I got a lot done. Sorted out all my stash of charm packs and set some of them up in kits. When I finish the quilt I'm in the process of (a black and red and white tossed nine patch) then I'll grab one of those kits. Had lots of cute charms that will be perfect for the hospice home. Slept off and on the couch last as laying down in bed I couldn't breathe through my nose.. so suffice it to say, I didn't sleep well at all. Will most definitely need a nap. And I'm trying to figure out how to attach a box of Puffs with lotion to my body so I don't have to hunt for a tissue when I need it. I so rarely get sick that all the cold medicine I had in the house expired long ago. One more day of the crud and I should be all better!

Posted a photo of one more quilt I finished. But I need some advice... When I go around to quilt on the border area corners, I always get puckers. What am I doing wrong?

Well, going to grab the Puffs and head down stairs for a bit. You'll know where to find me!

have a Fab Friday!

Suz - I love paper piecing. It makes your points come out beautifully without much trouble.

Vel - I'm looking forward to seeing what you will do next. I bought a Judy Martin book at the quilt show that has a quilt in it that I want to make for our bed. I saw a new line of fabric in a magazine that would be perfect for our bedroom. I wish I was finished with my sister's quilt and my DSonIL's quilt so I could start on it.

Joyce - I have chickens in the works, too. I have hand appliqued two funky chicken blocks and I just need one more then I can make them into a table runner. Maybe I'll make that my camping project.

Judi - have a great time camping and be safe on the road. I'm jealous!!! I did make rezzies for Feb. 22, 23 & 24 - taking that Friday off come hell or high water!

Izzy - I'd much rather read music that is in flats instead of sharps. I wonder why that is.

Maryz - I'm so far behind - how many kids does Tia have now? I remember two. I remember Vicky made a Shakespeare In The Park quilt that was so pretty. You have lots of company - I thought it was just going to be your sister. As for your cord - my sewing machine man refuses to keep any cords, thread, bobbins when we take our machines in for a spa day. That was there's no confusion.

Lyn - glad you made it back safe and sound. What's going on with Minnie's eyes?

Sharona - how is your DH's knee? My DH is having problems with his but it's not bad enough to go to the ortho yet he says.

Flo - how did the water get in your sewing room? Must have happened when I was absent. I know what you mean about being depressed. I was depressed, too, not so long ago. I said to myself, "Self, you have no control over all the mess that's been dumped on you and all you can do is your best. There's no office police so cheer up, get your lard butt off the sofa and quit sleeping your entire time off." So last weekend I (almost) finished getting the Christmas decorations down. Just have to take down my candy niche tree then haul all the boxes to the garage. Then I'm going to quilt my sister's quilt and blah blah blah. Going to keep busy and not let myself sleep all the time. I will, however, take my Saturday and Sunday naps. I get cranky if I miss those.

I'm at work. Gotta go. Luckily my boss has been in a meeting all morning.

I hope we can all fondle some fabric today.

Good morning, seems as though I am a bit late this AM. Doing a quick drive by. Not much change in life. Did not get an email regarding tonights sew in so guess it isn't happening. Will be nice to just come home from work though and stay there. Good progress on the shed. DH putting insulation in and then I think just paint the outside and start moving stuff in. Spoke with Sister yesterday. She has not followed up on his military benefit so likely he won't have Aid and Attendants in place when he comes. Not much I can do though until he gets here since he has to sign the papers. My BIL in Las Vegas said he may be willing to move back to CA if I can find him an affordable senior apartment. He can then help with Dad. I will definitely be looking into that.

So gotta run and get to work, want to get off at a reasonable time.

Happy sewing

Good morning all! it is very cold and snowy this morning. just as well that I am having to stay in and getting better. Feel so-so this morning but haven't had breakfast or my meds yet.

Will come back later to read posts. Good TV sports this weekend. The PGA is in Arizona for one of the most interesting stops all year. This is the one place where the crowds for the week are huge (600,000+) and cheering is allowed. Of course the Super Bowl is Sunday. Go Pats!!! Can't forget the Puppy Bowl and the Kitty Bowl Sunday afternoon. They are so cute. Will just be sitting in my recliner watching and doing my cross stitching project.

Hope everyone has a good day. prayers for those who need them.

Good morning! Seems like I get caught up in calves, cows, dogs, all the rest of life and don’t check in with you… Yesterday I finished my Christmas 2017 projects!!! I delivered them to family members late yesterday afternoon. Today I want to clean up in my sewing room and organize some scraps before heading back to some UFOs.

Joyce— I was feeding calves in 12 degrees this morning. It’s so unpleasant. The calves are being weaned, so they are getting feed and water… no milk now. I put on my fleece-lined jeans to break the wind. They are from the men’s department at Walmart—just like wearing fleece jammies under jeans!

Update on Vicky—Tia had her new son on Dec. 31. She now has 4 little ones. Vicky is making baby quilts and quilting on the long arm machine at the LQS. She’s getting quite good at it. Caleb’s wife is also expecting. There will be three cousins all born within a year (one is actually from her grandson and his wife).

Suzette—I still haven’t mastered paper piecing. I guess I hate messing with the papers after, so I don’t apply myself.

Izzy—I’m thankful no s*** here! The frost was heavy and crunchy underfoot. We had 65 degrees on Tuesday or Wednesday… now this! No wonder everyone gets sick!

Mary—Do you have a label on your cord? If an address sticker won’t stay on, you should make a little luggage-style label holder that won’t come off.

Lyn—you must have jet lag headache! At this time of year flying can really mess with your sinuses.

MaryQ—you are really setting your new sewing machine afire! You go!!! I have several kits that I purchased in my “haven’t started yet” as well as fabrics and patterns in bags that are ready if I ever have time…

Cindy—great to see you!!! I love that Shakespeare in the Park pattern! I used to have several Judy Martin books and made a couple of quilts of hers. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed and sink into depression. I have to have those motivational talks with Self as well—especially this time of year!

Valerie--Hope your BIL can come and assist you!

DH arrived for brunch, so I best get shakin’ with the eggs and bacon to keep peace here!

Enjoy today!

Good morning!

A little excitement around here - someone decided in the middle of the night to pound loudly on Aaron's front door. Woke them up - then the guy took off - good thing - Aaron is a very good shot! So now trying to figure out why. Security systems are now being investigated for our houses.

Sarah will be back in a little while. She had to drop off a key to a person taking over some of her duties in her professional choir. She is stepping back, not doung as much as she had been. She wants more time to do for herself.

That little voice went off in my head yesterday too, wondering about Vicki. Who ever has her contact info, needs to check in on her. That little voice went off in too many of us to ignore.

Hopefully I can get a quilt on the LA today - the space near my LA is in use for the bathroom construction.

Do something fun!

Good afternoon everyone.
This morning started out crazy. Hubby had a pt evaluation at 8:00 a.m. In the city. We have a friend that we hired to take us to those kind of appointments. Well, a snow storm of ginormous furry struck as we were leaving. Traffic was 5 miles an hour. There wasn't even a place where we could turn around. Stan, who is a friend, and a great driver got us there, safe and sound. A half hour ride took an hour, but all was good.

Nater is back in the hospital. It is time for his second round of intense chemotherapy and then shortly after that, stem cell transplant again. Farmchick, he got to take his quilt with him, which made him happy. He is in isolation for about a month.
Mymy is hanging in. Those chemo pills that he takes weekly, knock the heck out of him, but he, like Nater, is tough stuff.
Both Mikey (who is a sophomore ) and Mymy who is a freshman, have been asked to the Junior prom. Funny thing is they were asked by twin sisters. It will be cute to see them together.
Wedding plans are coming along for Mo and Jess. May 26 is not that far away.
My sister had her hysterectomy Wednesday and she is home. She is feeling good. The doctors said the cysts are benign .
I have had a baking frenzy this past week. Chocolate chocolate zucchini bread and banana blueberry bread. Some went I. The freezer and some I gave away.
Well, exercise break is over so I better get moving.
Judi, travel safely
Kathyquilts, Fly Eagles Fly 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Prayers and positive thoughts for all in need
Pink warriors, don't forget to tell a friend
