Good morning Lois and those who follow.
The woman who was going to help me at the LQS on my paper piecing schedule was changed so it will be tomorrow before I get help. She and I talked over the phone about it and no where in the directions does it say how to put it together. So hopefully we can figure it out tomorrow. So we will see. Mean while I am working on a flannel quilt. Have a wonderful day. I am going to get some more coffee.

Lois - enjoy your coffee.

Good morning and goodbye to warm weather rain change to ice and snow showers later in forcast with temps droping from 50 to 9 tonight UGH crazy weather.

Started my morning off with a bang or should I say splash-- Sat my coffee on end table on a book, went to make my bed and tossed down pillows which hit the corner of book and topple the large mug of coffee. YUP I am scrambling to get towels to get it all soaked up. Hit my floor went between the tray and top of the antique tea cart that all was on and got doily wet. UGH what a mess. All dry now. got doily soaking in some soapy water. IT too is antique.

Mary congrats on new machine. I guess we wont hear from you much for a while LOL sewing on your new friend.

Yes, bottle feeding is at 3 am each morning. They can go 7 hrs at night and they eat at 8 pm and then at 3 then we start all over at 8 am lol. They get bottle every 4hrs during day. So if not at work I am feeding someone goat, lil man or DD. Me well I just snack all day LOL no time to sit and really eat.

I didnt get pics loaded. I need to download to new system. I will try to do it today:) so busy here. Yesterday had to work on wed night kids lesson I was teaching.

I do read everyones but by the time I start typing I confuse who said what otherwise I would comment to all of ya:) Prayers for those sick, hugs for those hurting and all out love for all of ya:)

Hugs and prayers
Izzy

Morning

Pulled sewing room apart again yesterday. My bookcases where fabric and quilt stuff is stored had to be moved. Joe got in form hunting just as I emptied them. When we moved bookcases, the smell hit me so strong it gave me a headache. I took advantage of the tear down to go through my magazines. I now have a big box of magazines to take to Senior Center today to share with other quilters. Once smell is gone, in a few days, I will move the bookcases to another wall so room flows better.

For now its coffee and trying to wake up.

Good morning, what a great day it will be today.

I saw wild flowers on my way home from work. the orchards have bee boxes ready to pollinate and the weather forecast is to be in the mid 70's by the end of the weekend. I wonder if spring is the new winter?

I can only recall one day where I woke up to below freezing temperatures. And the news is already warning about fire danger. Crazy.

Judi, I always pictured you as a wonderful cook but never as a messy cook. Now I don't know what to think, LOL> Keep those scraps for Miss Sophie, she will make amazing creations from them. I agree about postage, it is so costly to send things.

Sharona, hope the flonaise works. I use peroxide in my ears. I put a capful in and sleep on my other side then do the other ear the next night. moves that wax and much cheaper than the drug store ear cleaning kit. Bible study and no piano lessons?

Maryq, wow, what a pretty machine. you are going to have so much fun with it. Lucky you. Glad you found reasons to buy it. I had a list going just incase.

Maryz, I did see the beginning of the eclipse yesterday on my way to work. the moon wasn't blue but did end up going dark. Glad Bill has a clean garage, and your spring cleaning is done. now you can put your feet up on a stool, sit back and relax.

Shirley Mae, prayers for you and yours.

Sherry, put on your jammies and slippers and snuggle in. Hibernation is a great idea. Prayers that you feel better soon.

Lois, we are almost at our weekend. I need an oil change but other than that I am going to sew a bit. What are your plans? did you find the perfect fabric for the BOM yet?

Suzette, a flannel quilt sounds so cozy. it will be a great winter watch tv and eat popcorn quilt.

Izzy, Guess that will teach you not to throw things in the house. There is a guy at work who's granddaughter shows goats. He shows me pictures often. They are cute.

Flo, I had to tell Jerry not to renew any of my magazine subscriptions. I also need to go through mine and de clutter. I think I am on my way to becoming a quilting hoarder.

Becca, Shots, errands and groceries, sounds like a busy morning.

Hope you girls have a wonderful day,
Chriss

Good morning,

Lois I missed why you are looking for fabric?

Suzette I was trying to understand the cutting directions on a pattern a couple of weeks ago and found it unclear also. Hoping I have enough fabric now as I think I cut it wrong.

Izzy hope your day gets better. Glad I am not the only one with an impossible schedule. I think yours is worse than mine.

Flo is the smell left from your flood? Sounds like you have a job ahead of you.

Tried to get the membership report done last night after diabetes class but was just too tired. Maybe tonight after Board of Trustees. Tomorrow night is my monthly sew night. I am going to try and go. Will need to get my sewing stuff from the church tonight and just leave in my car.

Gave my schedule to the boss yesterday of the days I can work different shift. She accepted it so I told her unless I hear differently that is the schedule I am going to follow. I scheduled me two 3 day weekends! I think she didn't notice and I am not going to say anything.

Today though I have to be in by 7:30 or 8 so I can get off in time for BOT so I better get.

Good Morning ladies!
Wow, It’s February already. Where are these months going? Golly it will be the end of March before I know it. I have still lots of projects I really wanted to complete while here where I have the big tables and the clubhouse to work with my friends.
This big monster quilt will be finished soon. I have just five more sections of flowers around the border plus the ribbons between them to quilt around. Yesterday, I think I finished two or more, so it will be SOON. Then I can do the binding and Wha-La! Done!

Lois: Hope your day brings you some time to sew after work. Yes, yes, yes, I do miss CindyG. Come back and be with us again.
Suzette: Hope you get that paper piecing worked out. I hate it when directions are so vague. I had a bit of trouble with this applique quilt directions when I first got started. Finally it ended up falling into place. Hope it works out for you. Bet your flannel quilt if going to be so cozy!

Izzy: Wow, what a weather change! How are you going to keep all those babies warm enough?
You are so busy. Really busy!!! I feel sorry about the coffee accident. I hate when something like that happens. If you drink it black, the clean-up is easier, but with cream and sugar, the mess can be sticky and much harder to clean. Hope you day goes better here on out.

I understand how hard it is to type replies. I too have trouble with that. If I am on my laptop, then I can use a “Word” document to type my messages and then copy and paste them into the reply box. But lots of times, I am on my phone and the brain doesn’t remember all the messages and I forget what it was that I wanted to reply with. LOL.

Flo: What is this strong smell you are dealing with? Hope you get all you room rearranged just the way you want it. It’s always good to sort magazines. They accumulate so quickly.

Have a great day, all of you, and prayers for all who are struggling with issues and illnesses. Love and Hugs all around.

Velda
PS: Oops I miss a bunch of you, while I was typing. Becca, Chriss, Katy and Valerie. See..... It's hard to reply to everyone.
Have a great day, friends.

Good morning!

Lois - sorry you were too tired to look at fabric. At least it's Friday Eve.

Suzette - how frustrating about the directions. So glad you have something else to work on.

Izzy - ugh - what a yucky way to start the morning. That's a lot of feeding for those baby goats.

Flo - hopefully that's the end of the damp carpet. I bet the Senior Center will be thrilled with all those magazines.

Becca - happy shot day. It's nice to get out once in a while, even if it is just to run errands.

Chriss - I like your peroxide idea - I'll give it a whirl. We haven't had much of a winter either, and the fire danger looms large.

Katy - good to see you, even if it is a drive-by.

Valerie - yay for two three day weekends!

Vel - the quilt you're working on sounds beautiful. I agree - time is flying.

Cindyg - I'm waving to you!

Sherry - I think hibernating is a great idea. Hope you get to feeling better real soon.

Maryz - looked at the pics - love the wallpaper, love the quilt on the couch, love your room! Great job.

We don't have to go anywhere today so I think I'll go out to my sewing hole and plot my next project. Have a wonderful and blessed day . xoxo Sharona

Well during my lunch time yesterday I sat here and read days and days of your posts. I really enjoyed them but now everything is a scramble in my overloaded mind. I'm still so far behind at my job but I'm determined to get a grip. I can't stand this feeling of disorganization.

Praying for those in need. So much sickness. That ding dang flu. I'm wondering if you have the flu once in the year can you get it again? I sure don't want it again.

Y'all are all so busy with quilting projects. I'm so tired by the time I get home and do my little bit of housework like the Maytag Mambo I just sit on the love seat like a bump on a pickle. Love the show "It's Never Too Late" those crazy guys. And of course "This Is Us", "Gray's Anatomy", and the three Chicago shows - "Fire" "PD" and "Med". And the Ellen Degeneras game show is hilarious. And then of course if JTV which I don't need to watch because I'm sooooo tempted to buy buy buy.

Our little Schatzi (Yorkie) had surgery yesterday - teeth cleaned, a large growth between her fingers, her nails clipped WAY back and a couple of little bump things burned off. And she also has a sprained right leg/knee which the vet said he wants to see if she gets better on her own. The growth between her fingers has stitches. I put a sock on that to keep her from chewing at it but it came off this morning. I put it back on but I don't know what I'll find when I get home this evening. Of course Don is out of town until about Monday or Tuesday. I am so in need of a day off that I made rezzies for camping Feb. 22 for three nights. I just need to get the heck out of Dodge.

Maryq - see you got your machine. I have a Janome Skyline S7. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine. See where someone is making a flannel quilt. I backed that yellow/purple queen quilt with flannel. I showed it to you when you were here - it is so heavy I almost can't fold it. The front is pretty though, right.

Maryz - praying for your sick people. Can't believe you've done another modification to your 5th wheel. Man!

That's about it for me. Nothing new or exciting - just the same old same old. My life is so boring but I'm thankful - it could be full of bad sad things. Oh, good news - my oldest DD, Kim, has been sober for almost 10 months. Now I have to go. I think of y'all all the time - just want you to know that.

I hope somebody gets to fondle fabric today. Won't be me but I am planning on long-arm quilting this weekend....I hope.

Good morning,

LOIS - Now you still have fondling your fabric to look forward to! And there's always the weekend.

SUZETTE - sorry the PP lesson didn't work out yet. But it will. and one day the light will go on. Meanwhile you have a flannel quilt to work with which will keep you warm on these chilly days!

IZZY - Hope the coffee spill is the worst part of your day and it's all good from here on. I think I would feed baby goats closer to MY bedtime and let them sleep through the night! I'd probably be a bad goat mom!

FLO - Do you have fans running in your sewing room? You may have to shampoo your carpet with white vinegar to kill mold spores and also wash lower walls with vinegar. Magazines! I have too many, too!

BECCA - Have a good errand day! Are you working on any particular project(s) right now?

CHRISS - if spring is already happening in your neck of the woods, it makes me wonder what your summer will be like. Magazines! I've stopped two of my subscriptions. Still have two more coming, but it seems there's nothing new or interesting in them anymore, so I think I'll let them lapse, too. I do like BLOCK, though.

VALERIE - you're as busy as ever! Hope you get your 3-day weekends!

VELDA - I don't understand why you need to do a document to type replies. I simply open up a second QIAD tab at the top of my screen and go back and forth between them. You will be done with your quilt soon! are you working on anything else right now?

SHARONA - glad you are feeling so much better and headed out to your sewing 'cabin'! how far is it from your house?

I sent Cindy G a text and told her we're all waiting on her. Let's see if she shows up!

Now that our projects here are done (one more thing to frame and hang today) we can rest. But sometime today friends are showing up in their RV to spend two nights. Hope Vicki doesn't toss garbage out for their dog! Our Scottie is much better now, but vet said it was a close call.

Bill's brother is slowly slipping away. His chemo is no longer working. There is a surprise birthday party for him Saturday. My brother has a few more pre-op appointments and his big ca surgery is March 8. Meanwhile, I learned yesterday that my older sis in CO found two lumps and her doc is concerned and ordered immediate Mammo, ultra-sound, and an appointment with a surgeon. So we are waiting on results of all that for her. We may be going to Colorado if things start looking hairy for her, depending on the timing.

As for quilting, I did make 6 Feb lotto blocks and hope to get a few more done. But right now no big projects. My Bernie is still languishing away at the spa so I'm using my little travel Janome.

Hope we all get to breathe in a little fabric dust today!

mary z

ps Cindy! You made it! Yay! And so happy for Kim's sobriety. That had to be difficult for you all! Scottie says, "Get Well, Schatzi!"

Good morning it is packing day...Ken will pull the camper up to the door and we just trnsfer this pile in...Ken just informed me he has 10 outfits,,,he put jeans and shirts on a hanger together( not that he matches anything) we have a large closet all across the front of the camper...so I told him to hang everything up/ I am doing laundry and have to run to the store for lunchmeat and fruit for the truck...He has finally been diagnosed diabetic..He has been fighting the Dr for 2 years,,,on and off meds...but now his a1c is too high and he needs to go on meds...(i tried to tell him) He will carb count and I will watch...so I must not bake any sweets because he will eat them...we will see how he does in Florida. Maybe we will both lose weight...ha I usually do not bake in the camper...but we have been known to stop at the donut shop and the candy store (no no no) so such are the perrils of getting old...

well I need to get going,.Cindy so glad to hear from you....I hate it that your so stressed out and tired all the time...that is not good...everyone have a great day talk to you grom the road tomorrow...XXXOOO

Good Morning girls

Back in the deep freeze this morning. 4 below! Guess I'll be staying in. That cough/cold virus that's been flying around has landed at my house, so probably best I stay home and not share my germs with the general public.

Lois... Just remember "two more days... I can handle two more days" that's what always got me through! The weekend will be here soon and you can go stash diving and find the perfect fabric for your BOM.

Sharon.... Hope you find something fun to do in your sewing hole! My whole downstairs has turned into a sewing hole. All 3 bedrooms have some sort of sewing mess and the family room floor is covered with projects and fabric.

Velda.... That's right it's February!! time to flip the calendar page. Not sure why I even keep a calendar by the fridge.. there's nothing on it!

Valerie.... Sure hope you boss approves your schedule. working weekends sucks, but hopefully it will give you a day off during the week to catch up your other duties.. and maybe a little "me time"?

Chriss... don't worry about being a quilting hoarder... No way would either of us ever beat my Sis-in-law. We keep USEFUL things, she keeps JUNK! I worry that if my DB ever needed medical attention in their house, they'd never get a gurney through the door. I do so love my new machine, it has quilt stitches even! and it so smooth!

Becca... Hopefully it's a bit warmer there for your running errands day! It was sunny yesterday and looked really warm, but it wasn't! But I had to go get groceries or else!

Flo....Now that's a good idea... I never thought of taking my magazines to the Sr. Center. Usually I cut out and keep the patterns that I like, but I hate throwing away the rest of the magazine. There's a SR. center in our local library.

Izzy... Dang, that's not a good way to start the day... spilling coffee! Hope it gets better!

Suzette... Is your flannel quilt just flannel for backing? I have a big chunk of flannel I could use for backing, but it makes me so nervous to use--wondering if it stretches too much!

Judi.... Sorry to hear that Ken got the diagnosis. But as a nurse you'll be a great help for him to count those carbs. Hopefully the meds will help get his A1C down. It certainly will be a life style change for both of you! Prayers for safe travels as you head south.

Maryz... Will keep the good thoughts for Bill's Brother throughout my day. And definitely for your Sis.. hopefully that lab report will come back quickly.. .waiting is the worst! Good to hear Scottie is back to his old self!

Cindy... YEAH so great to hear from you too! Think about you all the time, with lots of happy memories of being at your house! Oh I am loving my machine... I'm glad I took the leap and got it. My financial guy was happy to know I didn't have to break the bank to buy it.. I was thinking I'd have to spend a LOT more and I was going to "borrow" from my retirement funds. LOL

Time for me to get motivated here, waiting for the coffee to kick in. Not sure how much sewing I'll do today, have lots of organizing to do. I brought home another tote box of fabric from the storage unit yesterday. Found several block-swap blocks and want to organize them into kits to finish. Found the Bird house blocks and some Christmas ones, and I think what was a Summer swap. Also have all my charm packs sorted out and going to put them together with the patterns. I figure if I have everything together in a kit, I'll just be able to grab one and go. so that will be my day.. with a little bit of house chores thrown in.. need to vac up the threads that have followed me all over the house. I did finish a quilt yesterday and have only 1 side of binding to sew down, then I'll photo and post. that's my TV watching project!

Off I go... Have a wonderful day
