Good Dark morning!!!!

Do not know why but I've been up all night!! Gave half the house a good cleaning. After this I'll vac & dust my room & the sewing room. I'll be free all day to sew except a quick run to the PO & Town Hall.

Tomorrow...I mean today I'm expecting my Girl Scout. I ordered from my DGD in TX. Love thin mints.

I'll see you a little later.................Kathy

Good Morning Kathy! Boy you really became a cleaning tornado now didn't you? Wow, I couldn't do that, because it would make too much noise and DH would not be happy about being woke up.

Those thin mints are great! Haven't had girl scout cookies in years.

Will you all be sewing up a storm today? I have been plugging away at the hand quilting. Each day I get a bit more finished. Slow and steady just like the turtle. LOL

Good morning Velda, Kathy and those who follow.
I caught a picture of the super moon last night but can't this morning. Yesterday I didn't get into the LQS to get help on my paper piecing. Going in today for that. I was looking at the classes the shop is offering later this year and they are having Judy Neimeyer retreats. One in August and one in November. Both sessions are 3 days each. I have to decide soon because they fill up quickly. Well, I am off to find some more coffee. Have a wonderful day.

Velda - hand quilting is on my bucket list. I just don't know when.
Kathy - I have been having sleep problems the last few days as well.

Good morning. A quick run by I am running late already lol. Hey, any of you west coasters see lunar eclipse the blood moon this morning. The trees blocked my view of moon setting so nope didn't get to see it. I did get to see the beautiful blue moon at 330 this morning as I fed my kids in the barn :) so lovely too.

I have done some sewing this week I will try to post a pic later. I am squaring up the Fall Swap blocks I plan to use around the outer part of my dresden quilt. Nice and scrappy and I think I will name it 4 Seasons for all the different fabrics in it ;)

WEll gotta run bottle time for the barn kids and Gracie and Comet are lil piranhas for sure.

Hugs and prayers

Morning

In my sewing room I have 2 bookcases that are 6 foot high and 3 feet wide...well I need to empty them and look for wet under them because still musty smell coming from that corner. That is what I will be doing while Joe is hunting. So no sewing for me, just a torn up room again...

Velda and Kathy Thin Mints are the bomb!

Good morning, what a great day it's going to be today.

It's warming up and I think we are back in drought mode here.

Flo, yay, you found your toy. When we were kids we used to sew ribbon on the bottom of our jeans. Joe could bring that look back in style.

Judi, can you pick up a 5 gal thing of water to take. Or fill some containers? I'd be lost without water. I drink all day long.

Val, when you move your dad in you won't be able to refill that room. Glad it's getting cleaned out.

Maryq, I think we could help you come up with reasons to get a new machine. Would make sewing quilts for the childrens hospice hospital easier. I think you should get one. Call it a retirement present to yourself.

Maryz, Sending you a hug for yesterday. A real good hug. My blocks are going to be mailed on Friday. Vinae's swap blocks should be here soon and I can put them together. then it will be time for El's BOM. We also need to clean the garage. Jerry has been saying he is going through everything out there for some time now. I offer to help and he gets silent. LOL. Kind of a routine like Lucy. "MARTHA. Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch" LOL.

Sharona, Nothing helped us get rid of our deer either. things would last for a little while then they figured it out. There is a product we haven't tried called "not tonight deer" that you spray, it's supposed to work, but I doubt it.

Kathy, soup and sewing. sounds like a perfect day.

Sherry, prayers for your friend. There are a lot of people who haven't prepared for retirement. Hope she figures it all out.

Jana, it's supposed to be 70* by the weekend. I love sunshine but sure wish it would pour rain.

Velda, glad your lap top decided to cooperate finally. If you do go get some girl scout cookies try the lemonade ones. oh my gosh, they are good

Kathy, is it girl scout cookie time already? Why aren't you sleeping? Have you tried Valerian Root or Melatonin?

Lois, you could go two ways with the El BOM and make two quilts? My DH's favorite is the caramel delights too.

Izzy, I did see the moon, it was really pretty.

Becca, in your area weather really affects the timing for cleaning. hope you find the perfect allergy doc.

You all have a fun day

Good Morning all I on the other hand slep till 830 now to get going. Ken has a dr appt routine check up and I am not packed yet...I have a giant pile in the living room and kitchen I also have a giant pile in my bedroom...Kens clothes are not ready. I told him (Mr Procrastinator) we wont leave till it is done and if we are late we are late....He throws everything in the last minute then complains if he forgot soemthing,,,I am irritated today...can you tell...I need this vacation,

I did sew down all the appliques on the Christmas magic and the borders are all pieced,,,Just need to finish the top which will not get done by friday...so it will be my first ufo of the year...

My sewing room look a little bare since I cleaned out all the fabric and books to take to my sis. I still have a ton of scraps to get rid of,,,Id send you all a pile of them but the postage just went up and that makes it hard on the quilting budget,,,I cannot believe it is almost $8 to send a small priority box...sheesh! I can see where this will hurt the on line shops too...so maybe the brick and mortar store will do better,,,

well I need more coffee and it is down stairs...have a wonderful day Keep calm and quilt on.....XXXOOO
Chriss we do carry water in our RV I bring gallon jugs full so we can drink it and wash with it...just makes cooking hard,,,as I am a messy(but good) cook lol

Good morning,

Mary yes you are right, I don’t sleep much. Now they want me to start working some weekend days and evenings. I will hang for the next two months but when Dad comes, no can do.

Other Mary – I need your cleaning skills here! My house is in shambles and only getting worse. Can’t wait for DH to get the shed done and get all this out of here! I think the clutter is contributing to my anxiety. I am the Unit Manager for the “Long term care unit”. There are 66 beds with a current census of 60. High number of heavy care patients, hospice, and the young ones with health issues related to drugs and alcohol. Nursing homes have really changed over the years.

Sharona whenever the scouts help me out, I always buy them cupcakes. Guess that is a bribe but it works. Nobody else wants to do it and cupcakes are cheap.

Chriss when Dad moves in I am going to have the caregiver keep the room clean. When Dad moves out or goes to the great beyond, I am turning it into a sewing room!

Becca in running in all different directions, I eventually meet myself so that’s okay.

Well time is a wasting and I gotta get to work.
Prayers for all in need. Have a great day!

Good morning!

Kathy - sorry you couldn't sleep. Thin mints - yum!

Vel - enjoy your hand quilting.

Suzette - wow a Judy N retreat sounds fun. Hope you're able to get help on your paper piecing.

Lois - looking for fabric is always fun.

Izzy - glad you got to see the blue moon.

Flo - sure hope you can trace down that musty smell.

Becca - I'm so glad your doctor's visit went well! Ugly day - yuck. More snow - well I guess it's good for the water tables. That's how we comfort ourselves out here.

Chriss - what a clever name for a product, but I agree, it probably won't work. I nearly spit my coffee out on the 'slowly I turn' remark.

Lyn - safe travels!

Judi - packing for a trip is not high on my list of fun things to do, but I sure don't want to forget anything. Good luck on getting Mr. Ken ready to leave.

Maryz - I sent you a hug yesterday as well, but forgot to mention it. What a wonderful remembrance you gave of your DH1.

Spent an hour at the doc's yesterday. I put off doing anything with the heart as I'm quite sure I brought it on myself by trying to clear out my ear. If it happens again I'll have to wear a Holter monitor for a month. My BP is back to 120/70 so all is well there. She did prescribe Flonaise to try to get my stinking ear back to working. Today is Bible study so I'd better hit the bricks. Have a wonderful and blessed day! xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Girls

Woke up to a fresh blanket of snow on the ground... actually it's kind of pretty, but will require a bit of shoveling this afternoon. But that's okay, supposed to get up to 30 something and the fresh air will do me good. May even run into town and get some groceries--still haven't made it to the grocery store.

Kathy.. You are most definitely going to need a nap this afternoon. I'll join you, as I was up several times in the night too. Thin Mints? My absolute fave... hope you got some extras to throw in the freezer to save for a hot summer day!

Sharon... Good to hear your BP in back in the normal range. Do you have a BP cuff at home to check yourself now and then? I have one, packed away some where. Hope the Flonase helps clear out your sinuses and ear!

Valerie... You must take care of yourself too you know!!! I had a counselor once tell me "remember to put your oxygen mask on first" (like the airplane mask you know) We're no good to anybody else if we can't breathe!

Judi.... Years ago my Dad belonged to "The Procrastinators Club of America" They didn't do much but the joke was that they sent out last year's calendar. Maybe you need to sign Ken up for that! Or give him a swift kick in the tushie!

Chriss. LOL "not tonight deer" That's hilarious, I think that's the cologne DEX wore all the time! I did come up with reasons. see below.

Becca.... Good to hear you got all good news at the Dr. I haven't washed my entry way floor for a while, I think why bother.. it's just going to get sloppy again with all the snow!

Flo.... I so feel for you having to clean up all the mess to find a smell. Is any of this covered by insurance?

Izzy... You were up at 0330 feeding goats? Guess I could never be a goat farmer!

Lois... Are you going through your stash of fabric for the BOM? Isn't it just so relaxing and comforting to play with fabric!

Suzette... I googled Judy Niemeyer to check out some of her patterns. OMG They are gorgeous.. you are brave to do those! WAY over my comfort/skill level

Velda.. when you hand quilt, do you use a small hoop, I'm thinking you probably don't set up a big frame in your motor home.

Well Girls I DID IT. I took my Elna to the shop yesterday and I was right, the feed dogs aren't sitting right. SO I bought a new machine. I'll keep the Elna has a back up and/or save it for Corinne.

https://www.janome.com/en/machines/sewing/skyline--s5/

hopefully that link works. Oh Gosh am I in heaven now! Came home, set it up, and did a few practice stitches. Came with all sorts of feet including 1/4" and walking foot. I had a quilt all pinned and ready to go so I worked on that for quite a while yesterday. The VERY best part of the machine.. automatic thread cutter!!! That alone is worth the cost of new machine... so handy when quilting! I talked to my financial guy yesterday to see if I could liquidate about $3000 for a new machine.. he'll be proud of me that I didn't spend near that much. Got this one about $400 less than SRP.

So I'm going to go have some more coffee, throw some water on my face, tidy up the kitchen and head down to sew!

Y'all have a Wonderful Wednesday

Good morning,

Did anyone get to see the Super Blue Blood Moon? We got up at 0430 for the show but we have too many tall trees around us, so we took our coffee and drove to a nearby park. Too many clouds! We drove around a while, hoping the clouds would clear but no such luck. We finally came back home. I'm sure Scottie thought we were nuts, but he was happy to go for a ride.

KATHY - sorry you had insomnia, but sounds like you made good use of the time! Too bad your DGD can't deliver the cookies herself!

VEL - how far along on your quilt are you now? I hand quilted a GMFG once and it took me about 6 months.

SUZETTE - what project will the two JN retreats be working on? Sounds like fun! Would it be at your shop or would you go someplace and stay overnight?

LOIS - when I worked I had no energy for anything else either. and I was a lot younger then! When I'm in a dilemma about which way to go with fabric, I usually just choose Christmas! I did a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt in Christmas rather than her suggested colors and it turned out really pretty! Autumn saw it and immediately confiscated it for herself!

FLO - sorry you have to tear up your room again, but you sure don't want mold taking hold!

IZZY - you're bottle feeding baby goats and CHickie bottle feeds baby cows! I bottle fed my lamb when I was little. Yes, Mary had a little lamb. and she did follow me where ever I went. Her name was Susie. No moon for us. Too cloudy!

BECCA - UGH-ly day here, too. Floors, carpets, dusting, and bathrooms. But if I just light in and git 'er dun, I'll have the afternoon to play.

CHRISS - thank you for the hug! I could feel it! And it worked it's magic. You got your Valentine blocks finished in record time! Can't wait to see them. Bill finally cleaned the garage (WITH my help!) because we have friends arriving tomorrow. Friend Bob has a huge shop and it's ALWAYS tidy and so oranized. And my DBIL, Imitation Al, is coming next month from CO and he could serve a state dinner on his garage floor. So, like me cleaning the house, Bill is cleaning the garage. He can't dazzle with his cooking like Jerry can, so he has to impress with his garage.

LYN - safe travels! Glad you got to see the moon!

SHARONA - thank you! Hugs back to you! Glad to hear you are feeling better. But you do know, don't you, that one of the actual signs of a cardiac issue is denial? Please keep close watch on you. For me!

MARY Q - I'm thrilled for you!!! I checked out your gorgeous new machine! Even Bill looked it up and studied all it can do! He loves sewing machines. Just doesn't wan't to sew himself! I'm so glad you did this for yourself. Is your Elna getting her feed dogs fixed? My old machine did that, too. And that's when I got my new one! 8 yrs ago.

JUDI - I'm laughing about Ken and his clothes! I swear, we married twins!! When we were first married I always packed Bill's clothes. I thought he wanted me to. Then one year he blew up and said he didn't need me to do it and he was perfectly capable of doing it himself! OK by me! First trip, he brought no pants. Second trip, no extra shoes. One time he forgot his coat. And so it went. After four trips, he had a whole new wardrobe!! lol! and he always waits til the last minute! Drives me crazy! and when he returns, he won't UNPACK, sometimes for months! I understand your irritation oh so well! and yes, postage is getting outrageous! But still half the price of other countries.

VAL - you have a lot on your plate! Too much! time to scrape some things off! Hope your shed gets finished soon. Is your DH retired?

My spring cleaning is about finished. Whew! But it feels so good! Made two trips to the Goodwill with donations. And yesterday I actually sewed a few lotto blocks! My first sewing in two weeks. Was good to get back in the chair again!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Quick Hello from Kansas City. I posted an update in a separate post about the 3 men in my life. I am so tired, running on pure adrenaline and by the grace of God will get thru all of this.

Just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement for my situation with the 3 men and other things going on in my life right now. Please keep us on your prayer lists. I am running out of energy, not getting much sleep, and have a mess in garage and bedroom to sort thru and take to thrift store or put away somewhere. I brought some boxes home from Vic's apt to sort so could be here for Rod. He has been really sick lately and not doing much better.

I need to scoot. Lots to do around here. I did get up and watch some of the "blue moon" this am. I got up several times to chk it out. It was clear but misty and so pretty but just before it turned red, the thick clouds moved in and couldn't see the red part. The rest was fun to watch tho.

Prayers for all your needs today. I try to read some each day but too busy to get thru it all or try to post. God bless everyone of you today and all your tomorrows. God knows your needs and HE will provide.

Love and hugs, Shirley Mae and Rod and the kittycats

What a relative told me one time during my recovery.. Cleaning will always be there it never leaves so if one needs a break to just sit in resto for a break go for it.. Cz when you return the clean is there it hasn't run away.. Regardless of what you do it is there so don't fuss over it..

MaryZ - the wonderful thing about the Judy Neimeyer retreats you don't have to do a particular pattern. You do whatever one you want. You also have a table to yourself so you can spread out.

Defiance OH
Good afternoon all! Just a quick stop in on my way to bed. Had to go back to Urgent Care this morning and not go to my Friend's mother's funeral. I felt bad but I am getting sicker. Doctor said my viral infection was worse and I have a low grade fever so gave me a new antibiotic to take. Also to take Ibuprofen with it. He told me to stay in for at least a week and not go near anyone so I can get well. I have plenty of food and supplies and lots of sewing to do so Smoke and I will just hibernate. Hope none of you are sick or if you are are getting well.

Will come back later may-be to read posts. Now am going to take a nap. Have a good day everyone.
