2 weeks to sign up. Now through September 14th

20 spots available.

8 weeks to make your blocks and send them to me. Now through November 9th

I will mail the blocks back to you Monday
November 20th or sooner.

Mail blocks to me by November 10th using priority mail and save your receipt, it will have your tracking number on it. Blocks must be in my possession by Thursday November 16th so I can sort and mail them back to you by Monday November 20th or sooner.

If I don’t have tracking from you by November 10th I will not wait for your blocks to arrive.

Postage $7.20 (hopefully it won't increase), no stamps, no checks, pre-paid labels are fine, international will be worked out individually. I have Flat Rate envelopes to send your blocks back to you so please don't send return envelopes.

Please attach a label to each block with your forum name, real name, city and state. Keep the blocks flat, no individual baggies. Put your blocks in a large zip lock bag with your address on it before sending it to me.

THE FUN PART.

Make the number of blocks for people that sign up, each block to be 12 ½ unfinished. Please don’t square up your blocks. Check the size before mailing them to me.
Use pre washed 100% cotton. No muslin,

This will be a Quilter's choice swap of ONLY El’s blocks from her books or wherever else she has “her” blocks. No plain 9 Patch or Tossed 9 Patch
Your choice of block of El’s (except plain 9 Patch or T9P), use 30’s repro prints, backgrounds will be a plain solid white (like Kona White) of 100% good quality no see through cotton, no muslin. Please post your sample block by September 29th for approval or send to my cell phone or email me a pic.

ALL of your blocks need to be the same pattern, they can be scrappy 30’s. Each block doesn’t have to be the same 30’s fabrics.
No repeat patterns so first come first serve.

Any applique must be sewn down and if you use tear away or wash away or paper it needs to be removed prior to sending in your blocks.

Make sure your blocks are ready for the person receiving them to square up and sew together.

If you send incomplete blocks or your blocks are not the required size and of the required fabric they will be returned to you using your postage. Be sure to re-check the size before mailing.

THE FINE PRINT.

You must be a posting member of this forum for at least the past 3 months and be familiar with the way Chriss, Vinae, Izzy and I run our swaps. If you fail to follow through on one of our swaps, you will not be allowed to join the next swap you ask to join. If you fail to follow through on 2 of our swaps, you will not be able to join any of our swaps. Chriss, Vinae, Izzy and I run a tight drama free swap... we can "what if" till the cows come home but in the end it's an obligation and it needs to be taken seriously. If you are a person who can't send on time or if you think our rules are too strict please don't sign up for one of our swaps.

Communication and follow through are key. If you have any questions please ask prior to taking a spot in this swap. If you have any problems or concerns, PM me and we can take care of it in private so it doesn’t cause problems on the forum. If you join you must comment in the swap thread once a week...especially during the last month of the swap... I use only this forum and e-mail for communication. If you need my e-mail address please PM me.

**Can I ask a favor of you, please let me know what book or where I can find your block, I still need to pick mine and I'm not that familiar with blocks that can go by different names so I don't want to oops and duplicate a block. :o) I'm not sure if El calls her blocks all by the same name all the time.

Here is my sample. I had enough Kona white in my stash to get started.
Sorry the pic is too big. Not sure why it is so big.

Joan and Yvette, I'll get you added up top in just a few, I just got back from taking Jazmyneto the eye Dr to get her glasses and the boys are sound asleep so I don't want to wake tthem by walking LOL purely selfish reasons on my part :).... I'm on my dying cell phone.

Vinae, wowzer what a beautiful block! I was looking back at your fabrics and then at your block and what a difference! The fabrics are very pretty but when you work your magic and cut it all apart and sew it back together. ... beautiful!

I just had an image in my mind when I decided to do this swap and I wanted to do pain solid white to get the era feel for this swap and by looking at Vinae's block I'm so happy I went this way! I love it!

If it is OK please count me in? I'll do the "Round About Stars". The block with the 4 patches in the corners.

I agree with Tina. I like the one with the 5 yellows. Very Pretty!!!

Thanks ladies, I think the 5 yellow looks better too. Thanks for the compliments and input. These are fun to make. I have noticed that these patterns run a bit big and had to adjust my needle over to get them to be 12 1/2.
Tina- my block is from quilters almanac, quilt block party series number three. I used the colors a bit different than the pattern. I will try one the way the pattern shows and see if you like that better.

The one on the right is how it would look if I do it the way the book has the layout. Do you like that one better than the left one?
