Cross-stitch Santa

I whipped this little beauty out in just 15 months and a day. I had the pattern for at least 18 years before finally getting started. My hubby always says, “Speed kills.” So I took my time. 😁. BTW, if it’s upside down, my apologies. It’s my phones fault!

I agree with Vel, it is definitely worth the wait. Kind of antique looking. WOW, such patience also.

I used to do cross stitch in my younger years. Several pieces are still hanging in my kitchen nook. However, quilting took over and I have all my cross stitch to Chriss. I do miss it though. Nice job, as usual, Mary.

Oh Mary that is so pretty. You must have something in your hands 24/7 you keep coming up with so many different projects. I really do love counted cross stitch. I've just never done one.

A true beauty!! Your hubby is right. Never rush in the journey. It is not easy working on a dark background. My hats off to you!!!
Is this a keeper? Sure hope so :)

My admiration goes out to you. It is sure a beauty. I use to make counted cross stitch as well. I know how much time it takes. Vinae has most of the cross stitch that I made. My vision got bad and had to quit.

Mary, that is fabulous. I bet it was a challenge on that dark background. I have a Christmas on 1/2 done. It's been that way for about 15 years. Lori

It is beautiful. I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch. I did a couple of the Love Stamps for my mom. She always used those stamps.

Beautiful. I'm surprised you aren't blind after doing that. Do you wear a headlamp (like a miner) when you do work like that? Anyway, great job. You are talent loaded.

CINDY, you asked if I wear a headlamp when I cross stitch. I do have a headlamp, though I usually use an LED light around my neck. If I have a strong lamp over my left shoulder sometimes that's all I need. Using a pillow on my lap saves my neck and back some strain and when I'm working on dark aida cloth, a white towel over the pillow helps a lot.

Beautiful, I admire that you stuck with the project. It is so easy to get sidetracked by another crosstie have or hobby.
Have you considered entering your beautiful piece into a local fair exhibit?
